Ready to make your kitchen your own? Choosing your favorite fabric is a great way to personalize and add color to your space. We’ve rounded up free tutorials and patterns to help spice up your dining and food prep experience! Ready? Let’s get sewing!
Before you can make dinner, you need food! Here’s a great shopping tote tutorial!
If you forget your tote and end up with plastic bags to store, you’ll want a grocery bag holder to keep the chaos under control.
To dress your table, sew up your own placemats! You won’t believe how fast and easy they are to make!
And at each place setting you’ll need cloth napkins. With this tutorial you’ll be amazed at your perfectly mitered corners!
When things get hot you’ll want a pot holder, for sure —
And at the end of the day you’ll want cute dish towels to help clean up!
Have a project that would add to this collection? Add your link in the comments, we’d love to see!

Do you make your own kitchen towels or do you purchase towels and then decorate? I have wondered about this. If you do make them what kind of fabric do you use?
Susan Yates says
Both! Cotton muslin often makes nice dish towel.

I want to make the Placemats you show & I see you do not put interfacing between the fabric & I am thinking they turn better & lay flat with out needing any? ( the reason I asked is a white back I made some placemats-used interfaceing & they were hard to turn and did not lay nice & flat
Susan Yates says
No interfacing needed as long as you’re not using super lightweight fabric!
